AI & Business Resiliency

In honor of Cybersecurity Awareness Month BRPW is featuring two speakers at our October 9 meeting. 

Far'd Thomas, a doctoral candidate with National University will be speaking with us about the Intersection of Business Resiliency, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence. 

David Melby, Protective Security Advisor for FEMA Region 5 - Wisconsin District, will be presenting on CISA's Cybersecurity Awareness campaign.

Guest Speakers

David Melby serves as a Protective Security Advisor - Wisconsin District at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).  In this role, David serves as a critical subject matter expert in critical infrastructure protection and vulnerability mitigation and facilitates local field activities in coordination with other Department of Homeland Security offices in Wisconsin. He is also an advisor and assists state, local and private sector officials and critical infrastructure facility owners and operators in this role.

David is a Command Chief Master Sergeant with the US Air Force and he holds a BA in Behavioral Science and Law from University of Wisconsin-Madison, a MS in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is a Wisconsin Certified Emergency Management (WCEM) and Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP).


Far'd Thomas is a doctoral candidate at National University, pursuing a PhD in Technology Management with a specialization in cyber security.  His current field of study is business resiliency and artificial intelligence with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises.

Far'd possesses 20+ years of Information Technology expertise and is employed as a Senior Enterprise Client Success Manager with an organization that equips Fortune 500 organizations with solutions to effectively manage their digital risk programs. Far'd holds a BS in Computer Information Systems and a MS in Information Systems.
